At Gallwitz Pipe Shop, we provide professional pipe repair and restoration services for briar pipes, meerschaum pipes, antique pipes and selected collectible pieces. Whether your pipe needs a new stem, careful polishing, a full overhaul or a more complex restoration, we handle each piece with attention to its material, condition and character.
Many pipes are more than everyday objects: they may be long-used favourites, family keepsakes or valuable collector’s items. Our goal is to restore usability while preserving the original style and proportions of the pipe as much as possible.
Our Pipe Repair Services
We undertake a range of pipe repair and maintenance work, including stem making, stem fitting, polishing, bowl cleaning, shank banding and the restoration of antique meerschaum pipes. We can also convert certain non-filter briar pipes to 6 mm or 9 mm filter pipes, depending on the construction and condition of the pipe.

How the Repair Process Works
If possible, please bring your pipe to our Budapest shop so we can inspect it in person. If you cannot visit us, you may send the pipe to our address: 1052 Budapest, Régi Posta utca 7-9, courtyard pipe shop.
Before starting the repair, we check the condition of the pipe and confirm what type of work is possible. Standard repair jobs are usually completed within 3-5 business days, while antique, meerschaum or more complex restoration work may require an individual quotation and a longer turnaround time.

- Pipe stem making in the same quality as the original, vulcanite or acrylic: HUF 8,500
- Acrylic churchwarden long stem making: HUF 12,000
- Pipe stem tenon fitting: HUF 3,500
- Nickel or brass banding of the pipe shank: HUF 3,500
- Full pipe overhaul, including bowl chamber cleaning, stem polishing and bowl polishing: HUF 7,500
- Conversion of a suitable non-filter briar pipe to a 6 mm or 9 mm filter pipe: HUF 5,000
- Antique meerschaum pipe restoration, stem replacement and custom mouthpiece making: individual quotation
Used Pipes, Pipe Collections and Valuation
